The large black-gray brindle wolf prowled around the grounds of the Tailmeln. He has heard rumors of the alpha position being vacant, but he couldn't be sure. He was searching for a scent, and only picked up weak traces of what might have been a pack a long time ago. This manen, however, was young. He was hungry for power, but wanted to see other wolves more than anything. When he had been chased from his larger pack months ago, he had not been alone. He had been the leader of a small group, but they had disbanded for reasons he still couldn't grasp. Had he failed at being a leader? No, he thought as he shook his head to try and clear his mind of those negative thoughts. He wanted this badly, so he would try again. He would be alpha. Kelil raised his head and howled his call of dominance. He stood still and listened for any signs of a challenger. Glancing down at his silver bracelet he knew only a fool would attempt to fight him. His bright green eyes glittered with determination. He was ready.

"Finally" A low and sharp growl came from behind the brute, keen brown, almost onxy orb's glared out at him, watching his every movement. Her scent smelled like that of sweet grass that had just been cut mixed along with woodland smells and the taint of vixen. Her pupils narrowed and she bared her teeth, warning the brute is he dare attack. Her own bracelet glinted, but unlike his it shined golden, as did the cast around her amber gem. Ivory horns sprouted from atop her dial, sharp tip's seeming almost invisible against the white light cast down by the sun.

It was a nice day, the lands were warm and inviting. Chii grinned good-naturedly, seeming to breeze over the ground without really touching it. Wasn't it that way for everyone when they were happy? The landscape just seemed to drift by . . .
And coming to earth suddenly at realization that he actually was floating, Chii giggled embarrassedly and floated back down. Sometimes his subconscious mind got the better of him when he spaced out, and the air obeyed like malleable clay. A howl stung his harks, the young wolf recoiled suddenly and looked around with confusion. A dark shape in the distance? Chii began to trot towards it, picking up speed and yelping in sudden dismay as he passed a shadow. Tumbling head over heels, the wolf crashed into a tree and shook his dial, staring at the two. It was a large, forbidding-looking female wolf that had spooked him.
The cinder-gray wolf grinned cheesily, waved one cream paw.

Kelil heard a low snarl in the woods behind him. All the muscles in his body grew tense as he turned around to face whoever was hidden in the trees. With the fur raised on his neck and back he growled into the darkness, Who's there? He saw a gray wolf waving to the direction that the snarl had come from and decided to go over to see what was going on. Is there someone in there? Kelil asked the grinning gray wolf.

Whuh . . .?
Chii struggled to his feet clumsily, giving his narrow frame a rough shake before looking back over his shoulder and back at the alpha. He had a funny expression on his face.
I speak little Manen. He said laboriously, waving a paw confusedly and indicating the place where he'd jumped out from. Female wolf back thaehr?? How you say that yes! He grinned, pleased with himself, and scratched one hark with a cream foot.

Yes. That's correct, said Kelil, as slowly as possible. He tried hard not to laugh at the current confused expression on the gray manen's face. He wanted to be respect respectful to this stranger, but the look Kelil received from the manen was quite comical. Kelil moved toward the place where the other manen had pointed out the female to him. He ventured into the woods a little making sure to not let his eyes off the gray one. Who is in there? Kelil called into the forest.

The vixen always seem to make an entrance like this, making sure everyone knew she was there and she was dangerous. Baring back her lip's to show him pearly white, sharp teeth as he moved toward her. Her pelt had already bristled in every direction. "None of you're business right now" The vixen growled, her tail swishing behind her. Her ear's drew back to warn him again, not to attack. "What is you're name." She demanded at once.

Chii swayed a bit on his pillars for a moment, dial switching quick and bird-like from the large fem to the equally large male. She was scarier, though, he thought to himself, and so rude! Chii frowned poutily and hopped between them, making placating motions with his paws and spiritedly making a statement in a different language. Bits and pieces of manen poked through his speech, something about "friendship" and "family values".
Inky black eyes flicked from the fatale to the alpha, and back again. He said something that sounded forboding, and jingled the yellow bracelet on his paw meaningfully. The wolf cocked his dial, standing as imposing as possible.
Make peace be polite and friendly yeah?? He said, struggling with the words.

The strange vixen stared at the other wolf brute, a confused expression placed upon her feature's. She shrugged it off and grunted "I don't care.I though this would be a strong pack to join, obviously not." She growled, her eyes suddenly seeping from dark brown to red and she eyed both wolves over before twisting gracefully on one paw and started to walk slowly.

I am Kelil, the alpha of this land, said the massive brindled wolf. And I would love to be polite and peaceful.. but it seems like such a noble feat is beyond you. Kelil's bright eyes glittered as he raised himeself to his full height. Who was this femme, to come into his lands and outwardly insult him like this? Kelil kept his cool though, fighting the deep snarls that wanted to escape from his throat. What is your name? And what business do you have prowling around in my lands and insulting me?

The vixen ignored him, or so it seemed. Idly lifting her tail and snorting at him. She took a few more paces before stopping, her fur lay flat against her thick frame but she still looked deadly. "Ghost Howl" The vixen whispered quietly onto the wind, only being audible as it was carried along the wind and to the brute's harks. It was surprising such a soft note could come from a vixen so large and dangerous.

Chii sat back on his haunches, dropping the wind to nothing because the soft, whispering tugging zephyr was bothering him. A creamy-colored paw swept the medim-length cinder fur out of the wolf's dark eyes. He stared at the two larger wolves with unhidden, obvious curiousity. Black eyes wide with wonder at the alpha's control and nobility, the female's obvious ability to crunch his head if she wanted to. He just wished he understood more of what they were saying, or more of what he was.

Kelil heard her words and was a little surprised that the seemingly stubborn femme had answered him at all. Ghost Howl, he repeated. You still haven't told me what you are doing prowling around in these lands. What is your purpose here? He sat, and glanced down at his silver bangle that rested on his leg. And you, said the alpha, turning to the other wolf. What is your name?

She turned on one paw, her eyes still hued a deadly red but perfect calm surrounded her slim bodice. She padded back up to him and said in the same soft voice "I was looking for a tribe."

Now Kelil was confused and a little unnerved by the manen. Her attitude had changed completely in a matter of only a few minutes. Kelil kept his composure and did not allow Ghost Howl to know that he was extremely puzzled by her. He looked into Ghost Howl's eyes and noticed their blood red hue. She was fierce in a way that Kelil would never be. Ghost Howl was hardened. But why would she act like this?, Kelil thought to himself. She had no reason to be afraid of him, so he was sure that she was not being submissive. It then occurred to him that she was probably playing some kind of a mind game. He would play along. Did you wish to join this tribe? he asked tentatively.
