Feather looked down. Her two pups were playing gleefully togther, leaping and yipping. They were twin boys, with identical looks. They third, a darker female, was off to the corner of the entrance, staring out at the snowscene before her. Feather sighed. They boys both bore their fathers dark blue amulet at the neck where the she-pup, Ellador, had a turquoide one, same as Feathers. Feather was worried. The two boys were like any other pup in the world, chasing every snowflake around the Glacier for hours, but Ellador was more drawn back. The only reason that Feather was remotely worried was because of their father, Night. Night was a Demon Wolf, following commands of the leader of the Dark Empire. He had come to the Glacier to breed, and so had Feather. She hadn't known what he was until after he left, when an old friend of his told Feather.
"Yeah, I knew Night before he became a Wolf Deomn. I surprised he can still travel through Demona and the forest." Is what he had said.
Even so, Ellador seemed to take after her father alot. Feather saw a dark future ahead for Ellador.
Ellador stared at the snow hare bounding across the Glacier. Her mother had not yet noticed it. She shook her head distastefully. Her mother was so distracted sometimes she couldn't catch a mouse if it jumping into her mouth. She focused hard on the snow hare. She was hungry. It looked so plump and delicious. She wanted to tear it apart and eat the meat and then knaw on the bones. She would eat the entire thing herself!
Suddenly the snow hare stopped. It gave a bit of a tremble before it fell to the ground, torn in two. Ellador stared at the rabbit. Did I do that?
Feather gave a startled cry. That rabbit had been ripped in half but nothing had touching it. Then she looked at Ellador. She looked as startled as Feather did. Surely she was being paranoid. And then...Feather gasped. Ellador's amulet was glowing! Ellador had used the Black Magic of the Wolf Demons! Feather was more scared than ever. What if she accidently did that two either of her brothers, Torrent or Korye? What if she grew mad at Feather and did that to her? She shuddered. Tears grew in her blue and green eyes. There was only one thing she could do. It would be dangerous considering what Ellador was able to do to others, but her other two puppies -and her own- lives depended on it. Ellador was too dangerous.
By then Ellador was busy feeding off the rabbit. It tasted good. He mother began to walk towards her. Ellaodr realized that in her astonishment over the rabbits self destruction she had forgotten to offer her any! She gave a whine with her tail between her legs and took a step back in appology, but her mother wasn't looking at the snow hare. No, she was looking at Ellador. Was she that angry? Would Ellador be punished? The thought rattled inside her head. He mother walked over to her, her eyes blocks of ise, and carefully picked her up by the scruff. Ellador went limp. Her mother carried her far, and almost an it was dusk by the time Feather put Ellador down on the hard cold surface of the glacier. She turned around.
'Ma...?' She murmured looking up at her mother with large scared eyes. 'What are you doing?' Her mother turned her head and fixed Ellador with a long, gaze full of despair. 'Good bye, Ellie.'
She turned and ran through the snow, not looking back, knowing that she probably would never see her pup again. 'Wait...mom.' Ellador whispered, but the wind blew away her words in a swift breeze, causing Ellador to shiver. She didn't understand at all what just happened. All this because she had forgotten to share her rabbit? She threw her head up in a howl. 'Why did this have to happen to me?'
