Cytane sensed the red male, Kemen, suspected her. She decided to tone it down. Looking shyly up at him, she said, "Ah...I see... Myself? There's really not much to say... I'm a wanderer. I grew up alone. You're lucky..." She added wistfully, "You have someone with you. Someone to laugh with, to cry with, someone to depend on. I think I envy you. It might be what made me stop, actually..." She sighed, looking off into the distance. She drooped her wings, taking on a lonely stance. "I wonder what it's like..."

Timbre became angry when the femme once again directed her attention to Kemen. It was always this way. Even though Kemen lacked the same intentions as Timbre, he continued to tease the brute. He said mournfully, Must have been just awful growing up that way. Kemen tilted his head sympathetically. Timbre grew angrier yet. He moved closer to Cytane. A gust of wind blew by at that moment. Timbre's smell entered Kemen's sensitive nose. The smell of the brown manen caused the red one to crinkle his nose. It was not necessarily a bad smell, just slightly overpowering. Kemen's odor was far from Timbre's. It was warm and comforting and floated softly on the air. Timbre then nodded in agreement to Kemen's previous statement. You didn't have any friends or parents or anything? He appeared genuinely interested.

Colt sneezed; he had drifted off to sleep.
Oh. ...Oh. More wolves, just wonderful. He sniffed, shuffling his wings self-consiously. He -- Hello, he barked loudly, trying to get everyone's attention. Two more males, and two females. Great, faes. Colt .45 trotted forward and dipped his head to the wolves. I am Colt .45.

Cytane was inwardly pleased at the reactions her words had brought, but hid all signs. "Yes, it was," she said mournfully to Kemen, then to Timbre, "No, none. I don't remember them. My earliest memories were of my brother, Duga, but he disappeared when we were just pups. I never knew my parents...And friends? No, none... I've no notion why, but most wolves refuse to have anything to do with me..." She blinked, causing a crocodile tear to glimmer in one eye. Cytane was a practiced actress, one would have to know her very well indeed, to perceive her lies. It was true, she'd grown up alone, for the most part, and had had a brother named Duga, disappeared when she was young. She found the best lies always had a sprinkling of truth, they were just that much more believable. Cytane's head came around at the sound of another male. What was this now? She resisted the urge to wrinkle her nose. This new brujo seemed meek and shy, definitely NOT her type. She'd leave him to the other fae, wherever she'd gotten to. Kemen and Timbre were MUCH more interesting. But for the sake of her act, she turned, bowing her head and wagging her tail slightly, said, "Hello, sir. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. My calling would be Cytane..." She ducked her head with a small giggle, perhaps the other two would get jealous? Timbre certainly, it was obvious he was completely ensnared in her trap, but she wasn't as sure about Kemen. She'd have to work harder with him. But who knew? He just might surprise her.

Timbre scoffed as the new brute entered the scene. Where the hell did you come from? he asked. Kemen laughed playfully at his friend's antics. Then he turned behind him and saw that Sanyu was approaching the group. Hey, he said warmly. You decided to join us again, San? She nodded slightly, her eyes quickly and intelligently inspecting the two wolves she hadn't met. Meanwhile Timbre was more concerned with Cytane and Colt .45. Even though Colt did not have a threatening nature about him Timbre lacked the other brute's horns. Now Sanyu stepped from Kemen's side, looking at Colt .45 and Cytane. I'm Sanyu, she said. Her voice was sweet and melodic. I don't believe I've met either of you...

Cytane paused, hiding her annoyance. Great, the other femme was back. Perhaps she'd take Colt and go? But it was a bit much to ask, and she was forced to hide her indignation as Kemen completely ignored her for the fae! Oh, she'd get this girl, she would; but for now, she had to keep to her part. Bowing, she said again, "I am Cytane." Almost shyly, she backed away from the group, 'accidentally' bringing herself closer to Colt. She enjoyed Timbre's jealous behavior, but just wished Kemen would join the fun. He was too handsome to get away from her that easily!

Timbre watched Cytane's movement very closely. He saw her move closer to Colt and a small snarl escaped his muzzle. The brindle brute seemed be gazing off into space. Hey, pal. I asked where you were from, said Timbre in an unfriendly and rather harsh tone. Kemen was a little amused. She was playing his slow-minded chocolate friend very well. The red wolf instantly saw through her facade. Cytane was starting to grown on Kemen; she was trying so hard. Kemen turned his attention to the new brute, Colt .45. He looked physically strong, but he hadn't spoken up yet, so Kemen assumed he was either intimidated or just generally shy. Definitely the type Sanyu would go for. Kemen knew his female companion better than any wolf on Earth. He looked over at Sanyu. She was gazing oddly at Colt, waiting for him to introduce himself. Sanyu wanted to know more about this brute.

Colt looked coldly at Timbre, then growled icily, Tribe far away from this frozen-over hell. He clicked his teeth softly at the brute, then smiled slightly at Sanyu, then grinning to Cytane. Hello, he said quietly, his grin widening. You see, Colt .45 was not the shy little puppy he had once been; he was a full-grown wolf now, harshened by his time at the Glacier. He fluffed out his wings proudly, then grunted, still smiling. Once more, he said, I'm Colt .45 -- call me Colt.

Sanyu was slightly startled by the sudden cold look in his eyes. It seemed that her assumptions of him being quiet and mild were wrong. Not that she minded - it was sort of refreshing to see someone other than Kemen stand up to Timbre for a change. Sanyu was now extremely interested in Colt. She became jealous when he his slight smile for her turned into a wide grin for Cytane. Sanyu thought herself rather pretty and was not used to being overlooked like this. Kemen was also a little surprised at Colt's icy demeanor. This brute was more unpredictable than he had first thought. He still wasn't sure he like Colt though. Timbre was already decided against Colt.

Colt .45 wasn't used to not being liked, but he didn't know that Kemen wasn't sure about him. He already didn't like Timbre, and obviously the feeling was mutual.
Of course he thought it rude to just look past Sanyu, but Cytane...was unusually attracted to him. Faes weren't usually attracted to Colt. He shrugged the feeling off, his wings shuffling and becoming less poofy and fluffed out now. Crap. He was confused. That didn't happen often.
Suddenly he looked to Sanyu; he felt her eyes burning into his pelt. His grin widened even wider when he looked at her. Cytane, Sanyu, they were both pretty, and both seemed so nice. Guh, he grunted, hoping no one had heard, but he needed to let something out.

Cytane paused to formulate these new developments. Okay, Kemen obviously wasn't interested, and Timbre WAS. The new brute had turned from a shy, meek weakling to a much more interesting character, more specifically, one who was interesting. And then there was the fae, Sanyu. Cytane feigned ignorance, but inwardly preened at the foul looks of jealousy she was being sent. Oh, she could use this. The game had just become MUCH more interesting. She sidled up to Colt without seeming to, and pretended to ignore his slip. Oh ho ho! Not immune after all, eh? Well, now... She cast an almost frightened look at Sanyu, then looked to Colt as if for protection. "Umm...Colt .45? What brings you here?" She laughed nervously. "I'm sorry. I'm not very good at conversation, as I was telling Kemen and Timbre..." She cast a bashful look at him, then at the other two. "I'm not used to so many wolves, it's a little overwhelming..."

Who did Cytane think she was? Sanyu's mind worked furiously as she watched the other femme enter Colt's space. What could she want with Colt? Kemen, the femme thought, although not Sanyu's type, was a larger and better looking brute. Kemen was splendid to watch in a fight. Plus, he was far more intelligent than his warm drawl of a tone gave away. Timbre now shook with misdirected anger, glaring at Colt like Cytane was obeying some silent will of his. Cytane mentioned her lack of conversational skills and Kemen stepped in. We were all talking about our pasts, you know, where we're from. How about you? Everyone's got some kind of story to tell. Sanyu batted her eyes seductively. I'd love to hear more if you'd like to share, Colt... Timbre rolled his eyes. Why the hell did everybody care so much about this guy?

Colt glanced from Cytane to Sanyu. Oh. What now, Alaska? he thought proudly. Two femmes hanging off him. Well, my brothers -- Alaska and Shift -- and I came from a tribe far away from here. Our father was the alpha, he added, as if being the son of an alpha was something to be so proud of when he was the son of an alpha of a tribe so far away. He thought of his brothers; Alaska, the proud ass, and Shift, the sarcastic one.
Snow began to fall, quickly coating the ice with a light, powdery blanket. But wait, he murmured. What about you wolves? I haven't heard about you yet. With a glance at Timbre, he wondered if the other brute would make some rude comment. Kemen was obviously much less hostile than the other.

Well... My friend here did a very bad thing. Timbre lowered his head in shame. Kemen's expression was suddenly no longer warm. He looked at his paws as if he were at a loss for words. Sanyu was also thoughtfully silent. Its not my place to say what he's done, but the two of us went with him when he was banished from the tribe. Now things were even more awkward between the five wolves. Sanyu now looked at Colt. On a lighter note, I came from a tribe called the Kaevai. We lived on a mountain. Timbre and Kemen were from a tribe that bordered mine. I had been friends with them since I was a pup, so when Timbre... Sanyu paused, searching for words that wouldn't give too much away. When all of the mess happened, I had nothing else to do with myself. My life was dull so I went with them when they left. Timbre still hadn't spoken up about his past. He obviously didn't want to speak of the things he had done. Kemen now brightened a little. I came along with them to protect her from him. He said it in a joking manner, but it was the truth; Sanyu smiled sweetly and rolled her eyes.

Cytane resisted the urge to prick her ears. What was this? The rough and tumble bad boy wannabe really WAS a bad boy. From her position in the background near Colt, she unobtrusively watched the byplay. Who knew what would come in handy later?
