Alone Again.

Mish stepped onto the grounds and stretched like a cat. Her face was stained with last night's tears. Even though her heart still ached from Byrd's abrupt departure, she longed companionship. The pain in her chest was new and unfamiliar, she had never experienced lost love before.

She sniffed the ground but only found a stale scent of one of her pack mates. Maybe I should go to the glacier.., she wondered. Mish pushed that thought aside. If I wait long enough, someone will notice me. Her Grey fur sparkled oddly in the fading light while she paced across the ground.

A small black and grey shadow crept out into the dying light and looked around timidly, light blue orbs slitted to avoid detection. The pitiful creature's senses were keyed up high, alert to the slightest danger. Ragged wings were pressed against his side to make him appear smaller, and his white paws and muzzle were stained with mud. His horns were dull and chipped, and his remaining pearl was so dull it didn't reflect even a glimmer of the sinking sun. Slinking close to the ground, the neglected wolf watched everywhere around him for signs of enemies. Except, that is, where he was going.

Mish stopped her moping when she heard the sound of another wolf's approach. When she saw him, Mish stifled a gasp; he looked awful. Self conciously, she shook the dirt out of her fur and stepped forward. "Uh, hi. My name is Mish." she barked. Mish wagged her tail in a friendly gesture.

Now that the sun was almost set, only her bright eyes and a faint outline of her body showed. She looked at the battered stranger and , she finally had someone to be with. She could not let him go.

Nao froze at the sound of another voice. Immediately, her shrunk to the ground, making himself as small as possible as he covered his eyes with his paws. "P-p-p-p-please don't eat meeeeee!!" He cried. The poor loner was used to being the brunt of others' jokes and anger, being a natural born omega. He cowered, waiting, fearful in the anticipation of pain and mockery.

Mish cocked her head. "Eat you?" She laughed playfully. Mish's whole body shook when she laughed. "Don't be afraid," she said more seriously, "You've had some rough expirences with other wolves, I believe. That makes the two of us." Mish sighed, the weaker wolf was bound to run away from her. She lied down and whined softy like a pup who wants to play.
