Two

[Leporidae]

Two pairs of bronze eyes peer out from the brush. They look outward onto the surrounding, watching carefully. A brown and white snout sticks out, smelling the fresh air around them. The elder looked at his young brother, with mixed feelings

"I smell wolves. Lots of them, infact."

The younger one smiled back, with a hint of uncomfort

"We may be in pack territory, I think."

"Possibly. Either way, we're going in there."

The younger wolf, known as Sherbert frowned, he wasn't very happy with the idea.

"But it could be dangerous! We shouldn't go out there!"

The older one, known as Dusty, gave a serious look to his sibling.

"More dangerous then living alone, without much food and shelter? Tell me, what makes you think we'd be in more trouble if we stepped out there?"

Sherbert stayed silent aside from a tiny whimper. Dusty spoke, this time less harshly

"Tell you what, I'll go out there and I'll signal you to come if I need you. Got it?"

Sherbert just nodded, and laid down in the grass. Dusty walked from out of the brush and into the open, sniffing around and searching the immediate area

[Oasis]

She stalked the two brutes; crouching low in the leaf-less bushes.

She thought of Dusty as a handsome brute, the other one, more or less.

Calamity stalked Dusty, just at the right moment -- and barked at him. Giving him a some-what warning of her coming. She crouched low, ran, and jumped.

HULLO ! she yelled as she landed accidently next to him.

((Agh, I was having trouble posting yesterday. Sorry for not posting earlier))

Dusty was half-surprised by the barking, and started to scan the surroundings for others. All he saw was just the empty landscape: yellow grass with a few bushes and fallen (tree, not wolf ) limbs here and there. He did not see the other wolf close by, just right behind him by two feet or so.

Sherman (Or Sherbert) raised his head as the barking commenced. He shifts up back onto his feet as fast as he can manage (Which speed is fairly average for a canine) and rose his head behind the brush. He was able to spot the wolf easily in no time, and quickly ran out behind from the brush shouting.

"Dusty!"

"Huh?"

Dusty turned his head to Sherman, still not seeing the wolf. Mostly because it just jumped away and landed next to him. The loud welcome surprised Dusty, jumping up quickly and turning around. He didn't have anything to say, still trying to calm down. Sherman ran up right beside him to make sure he was alright, but he seemed fine.

Nereus peered through the bushes. He cursed himself quietly for not getting here sooner - he was alpha, for goodness sake! Then maybe I'm a little too hard on myself. I'm new to this alpha role, and atleast I already know the territory very well. Correction - my territory, not the territory. he thought. Then Nereus returned his gaze to "Dusty", he had heard the name that way atleast, his brother (Nereus could tell from the scent) and the "stalker". When he saw her, the "stalker", jump out and surprise Dusty, Nereus decided that maybe it was time to see what they were doing here. He leaped in between the brothers and "Stalker", binked in horror when he almost began to stumble, caught himself before he landed, and twisted into a position from which he could see all the wolves. Sorry to interrupt, but why are you here? he said grandly, trying to sound superior yet still moderately kind. Nereus raised his tail high, and made sure he was giving off the feeling of "alpha".

Dusty shook his tail slightly. He's quite sure that this was the alpha, seeing his tail straight up in the air. Sherbert ran to hide behind his big brother, shy of the male infront of them. It was up to Dusty to address them, not that he mind.

"Ah, you must be the alpha. Hello, I'm Dusty. My little brother here, you can call Sherbert, or Sherman. We can never decide which one is which. We're just looking for a place to rest, sorry to bug you."

I smiled. They looked so alike, just except that Dusty had some brown markings. You're welcome to stay however long you want, as long as you don't harm the pack. You may also join if you wish. Then I turned to Calamity (although I hadn't yet learned her name, I found out later). And you? What is your name? I inquired, trying to sound polite.

Calamity looked at the other manen, excitement fused with seriousness stood still in her ice cold gaze. "Your the alpha, eh? Must be fun." she sneered. " So, NEREUS, whats it like?" she said coldly.

My eyes narrowed with her cold voice. So, NEREUS, what's it like? I heard, and I growl began to crawl up my throat before I stifled it so no-one heard. Very well, I'd play her little game. Oh, it's very fine, I said sarcasticly, it's quite fun managing a tiny tribe with almost no members. It's even better when someone runs in and sneers at you when you ask them a simple question, one like their name. What a fun time I'm having, don't you think?
I sat and scratched with an air I hoped was irritating while waiting for her to snap back. Then I casually stood up and I was waiting for an eternity, it seemed, although it was really much less than that. Before Calamity managed to do anything I howled and summoned Wint, my alpha mate.

[Oasis]

Calamity snorted disgausted, a cold gaze turning into soft amber eyes that showed compassion. "You say remarks well." she barked with an intimidating tone.
"You are not stupid, I see. Very well, I will join your tribe with your wishes." her voice choked up. "I was just hoping to be alphaess.." she muttered scornfully under her breath.

I, Wint ran to where Nereus stood. Nereus I panted Nereus whats going o- Thats when I saw the three other manens. I walked to the two sitting alone. Nereus seemed to trust them, so why shouldn't I? Who are you I asked. Then I saw the other. She had taunted my leader, then asked to be alpha! I'd rather die than give the job to her! You I sneered Where do you come from! Why should you be alpha! I snorted. Thinks she's all that!

It turned out a little weird. Yami, would you mind modifying your post before I post? And sorry I haven't been on. One little itty bitty reason - school. *sighs*. So, please know I'm still going to post, just not as commonly as before. And sorry for the rush, it's for the same reason as before - school.

I walked to Wint and gently nuzzled her, trying to reassure. It's okay. I found these three on our territory, so I "greeted" them, of course. Those two are Dusty and Sherman, just seeking shelter. The manen is Calamity, she wants to join the tribe. I paused for a second, then leaned closer to Wint and whispered, _{I can see from your expression that she's a bit full of herself, insulting me, then asking to join the pack and wanting to be alphess. I sort of agree, but we do need pack members.}

I straightened. So what do you think, Wint? We let her join?

[Yami]

I, Wint nodded. I guess we could let her join I snorted again Still alpha isn't her place! What about Dusty and Sherman, do they want to join? We at least need some decent members who will treat their leader with respect! I thought. I sat and waited to hear Nereus's reply.
