He was running. He was running and there was blood. Blood everywhere; on the ground, all over his legs, in his eyes. This was all Timbre was aware of. His small paws splashed in blood-filled puddles, spattering the red fluid around as he ran though his old home. Then he felt a huge presence from behind, pulling on him. His forward motion slowed, and then the forest began to move backward around him. Timbre was being dragged back to the precise spot in the woods that he had been running from. It seemed that instantly the pup was back where he had started. He turned around to face the horrible thing he had run from, this horrendous deed he had done. Timbre turned, and saw. Blood was seeping into the ground, drying in some places and turning it a murky brown-red. A large wingless chocolate wolf lay in the clearing. The wolf spoke Timbre's name softly, using all his remaining strength to call to the very son who had betrayed him and had caused his death. Then another wolf burst into the clearing. This wolf was huge, also brown, but had magnificent wings that jutted out of his broad back. This manen roared furiously and then raced across the clearing. He was coming right for Timbre. At the exact moment of impact, when the adult was about to spring upon the pup, Timbre woke with a start.
The pup gasped. He was entirely out of breath and terrified. He realized it was morning as he looked around. His friends Kemen and Sanyu were standing near the water. He walked over to where they stood. G'morning, said the petite femme with a smile. The bigger red brute simply glanced at Timbre and nodded his head in a swift motion. Timbre lapped at the water. Sanyu tilted her head and said in slight alarm, Timbre, you're shaking, are you alright? He obviously did not want to talk about his dream. Fine, he said in a particular tone, letting Sanyu know that this was not to be spoken of again.
