Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking When you fall everyone sins Like a patch of Yin in Yang, the femme's charchoal pelt stood out starkly against the white landscape. Her build was lean, yet muscular; she was not slender, but her mass was due to her muscle. She held herself with one paw off the ground, silver bracelet hovering a few inches off the hard snow, and her rump half-lowered to the ground. Steam rose from her open maw as her howl filled the sky, embodying the troubled thoughts which denied the earrings that demanded from her absolute serenity. Yet to feel the rise one had to feel the fall, and in that moment she had no wings to help her up from her groundridden position.
Nausicaa, Princess and traitor of a far-off Tribe, cut her howl off and lowered her muzzle until her nose barely brushed the ground. She was worried, worried for the brother who she had left in the paws of her former pack. Their plan had seemed so brilliant at the time; but now that she looked back at it, there were so many things that could have gone wrong. She could have led her brother to his...
No. She couldn't face the thought. Even if they hadn't believed him, she couldn't believe that her parents were that heartless. The worst they could have done was to exile him - he was their own son, after all. Even prejudices have to draw the line somewhere. Even if he was exiled, he probably found another pack and is doing very well, Nausicaa reasoned. He was always good in leadership situations, if perhaps a bit too ambitious. No matter how much she reasoned with herself, however, she couldn't get the thought out of her head. With a sigh, Nausicaa set her rump to the ground, raised her head and waited. For what she was waiting for, she wasn't yet sure. Perhaps she would know when she saw it.

Pointed, black ears pricked against the falling white powder. The muscular male wolf raised his silver and white muzzle to answer the call. When he was finished Rogue leaped into a gallop across the white land. His plush black, silver, and white coat was rather strange to see against the snow.
He came to a halt a few yards away. His cold, light ice blue eyes spied the black and silver female. He cautiously padded towards her, keeping his posture non-threatening. "Hello." He murmured, sitting down a few feet in front of her.

Another day, and you've had your fill of sinking With the life held in your... Nausicaa's ears perked as she heard another howl fill the air. It was answering her own, and was that of a brute. Curious, she began searching for him as he approached. Her head swiveled about, eyes scanning the horizon, until she spotted him. He seemed to waver in and out of existence, the white patches on his fur making his outline unclear against the bleached horizon. She narrowed her eyes until he was close enough to get a good view of. His fur was a mix of black, grey and white in a seemingly random assortment - though the impression he gave was anything except for a mess. He seemed perfectly put together as he approached, keeping a respectful posture as he greeted her. "Hello," he said, his voice smooth as velvet ((Frank Sinatra? xD)).
Nausicaa dipped her head in greeting, her earrings stirring slightly as they did so. The demeanor they reflected surfaced once more, putting her troubled worries aside for the time being. She couldn't do anything to change what had happened, no matter what that was, so why obsess over it while there were other things to do? Halius wouldn't want her to be so unhappy. "Hello," she began in greeting. "What brings you to these frozen lands?" she asked, genuinely curious as to what most wolves would want to come here for. Her pelt was thick and her muscles dense, so she could handle it well, but not everyone was that way. Her head tilted as she waited for his responce.

"I've been wandering this land for a while now. " Rogue replied, scratching at his left ear. Once he was satisfied that the itch was gone, he put his foot down. " What brings you around these parts?" He asked curiously, tilting his head to the left.[/Blockquote]

Paws are shaking cold These paws are meant to hold Speak to me Nausicaa considered his words for a few moments. She knew what she was doing, but not what she was doing here or why. Was the life of a wanderer always going to be this aimless? What exactly was it that attracted her to this life? Was it the lack of responsibility, the knowledge that you only have to care for yourself and perhaps whatever other travelers decided to wander with you? Perhaps it was merely my bad first experiences with Tribe life, she thought. She answered his question, "I am a wanderer, and have been for some time. I have only stumbled upon this particular area just recently, however." Nausicaa paused. After a moment, she realized just how many other wolves had been here - the snow was filled with the scent of others who had been there in the past. "What exactly is it that attracts so many other wolves to this particular area? I had the impression that not many other wolves liked the cold," she asked, tilting her head to the side. If she had known the answer, it was a question she would have avoided asking.

"Supposedly this is an area to find mates. " Rogue replied. He gave a warm smile, noting the fact that this female looked like his mother. Except for the fact his mother's tail was submissive like his. " My name is Rogue, by the way." He added quickly.[/Blockquote]

((lawl I'm running out of relatively neutral pics xD We'll have to have an exciting plot twist soon... Little muse here, so it's a shorter and crappier post.))
When all you gotta keep is strong Move along, move along Like I know you do "Oh." The answer to her query made Nausicaa slightly sheepish, though it was nothing that she couldn't toss off with relative ease. She added mildly in an attempt to come back from the slight hiccup in her confidence, "It seems a curious place for romance to thrive." Then again, there was no romance about it to some wolves. As far as she knew, that was the way it happened here. Best to change the subject altogether, for she was making a relative fool of herself... Nausicaa gave an inaudible sigh of relief as the male - Rogue, as he said - did so for her. "You may call me Nausicaa," she replied. Her full name would be foolish to give to a stranger and expect them to pronounce all of it successfully.

(( Yeah, maybe a polar bear attack and Rogue saves Nausicaa and they eventually fall in love? ))
Rogue nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Nausicaa. " He replied with a smile. His ears pricked forward and all his senses went on alert when he thought he heard something in the distance.[/Blockquote]

((Yaayy! xD I think I'll injure her in my next post so she can't fight anymore. I take it you're controlling the bear?))
And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along Just to make it through The last half of Rogue's speech faded out as Nausicaa's ears swiveled to point behind her. She hadn't noticed it when the two of them were talking before, but now she realized something was approaching... something big. Something larger than even the grizzly bears she had seen back in her old pack. Turning her head, she saw - nothing. Only a blank expanse of white was visible, but she still felt vibrations and heard faint footsteps in the snow. She narrowed her eyes, confused and quite frusturated with herself. She should be able to sense what was out there! She was a princess, and hadn't gone through hour after exhausting hour of training for nothing. Finally, she resigned to the fact that she couldn't make out with her eyes what was there, and raised her head to sniff at it.
It was like the scent of the grizzly bear, but different. It was without the musky scent of the forest, and was scented with the emptiness of ice and - very faintly - the fat of some strange animal. Also, it was a more wild, untamed and altogether dangerous scent, and all Nausicaa could assume was that the creature followed suit. She looked again - and this time saw the animal perhaps a hundred yards away. It was even larger than a grizzly bear, and its fur was all white. She noted with alarm that it was extremely thin. Why, it wants to hunt us, was her first thought. Well, she didn't intend for either herself or Rogue to be eaten anytime soon. Her Alphess instincts kicking in, Nausicaa turned and shouted, "Rogue, RUN!" She didn't like to fight, but she would if the safety of another wolf depended on it. When she turned back, a furious snarl was plastered on her face, and she was half-crouched in a ready stance for anything the bear would throw at her. Or so she thought...

Rogue's eyes widened considerably when he saw the bear. When he was told to run, he turned and leaped into a run. But he skidded to a stop when he realized that Nausicaa wasn't following him. He stood where he was and watched with horror as the thin polar bear reared up to attack Nausicaa.

((Sorry it's so late >.< I'll get on more often once school becomes a bit less hectic.))
So a day when you've lost yourself completely Could be a night when your life ends In this position, chest lowered to the ground, rump raised slightly, tail raised high like a banner or warning flag; it almost seemed as though Nausicaa was a play companion for the large bear before her. However, there was nothing on her face aside from a deadly sincerity and calm fury. Her brows were furrowed in a dangerous concentration as her eyes scanned for his weak points. As the bear raised its massive form, she saw one. At the base of the throat would be an awkward spot for the paws to reach, and it would be difficult for it to crush her against the ground from there. The only danger was if it suddenly threw its head down, in which case she could be caught between its chest and chin.
For a fleeting moment she considered herself lying broken on the ground, crushed in the very trap she put herself in. As Nausicaa realized the danger she would be putting herself in, a shadow of fear came across her heart. If this were any normal day, she would be running, wouldn't she? The bear was pursuing them because starvation had driven it to insanity, and that certainly wasn't its fault. However, she thought of Rogue, and her thoughts turned back around. She had to defend her fellow wolves, whether they were packmates or merely traveling companions.
Taking advantage of its temorary weakness, Nausicaa leapt from her position on the snow and launched herself towards the base of the great bear's neck.
